  • 16-19/04/2019: Training course : altimetry for ocean, coastal surfaces and hydrology, USTH, Hanoi .

Satellite altimetry techniques have been developed for over 25 years, providing a huge amount of information about the ocean, coastal surfaces, hydrology and ice surfaces. In an era that sees a wealth of information coming from nadir, SAR and, in a couple of years, interferometric altimeters., it is important to know what information is available, how to use it, and what are their limits. In this perspective, we organized a 3 day altimetry course at USTH, Hanoi, from April 16th to April 19th 2019 with 15 participants from public and private Vietnamese institutions

  • 03/04/2019 : The 24th International Ocean-Colour Coordinating Group meeting will be organized at USTH the 4-6 April 2019. In this framework, a seminar on ”Ocean color remote sensing and related environmental applications” will be given at USTH the 3rd of April 2019 from 14h00 to 16h30 (room number will be provided later). Five complementary lectures will introduce the theory of ocean color remote sensing and present examples on the use of this technology in integrated coastal zone management.

This seminar is open to all. See the detailed program here.

  • 13-15/11/2018 : LOTUS 2nd workshop on «Water and associated mater cycle along the atmosphere-continent-ocean continuum», focusing over the South East Asia and more particularly Vietnam, was at USTH, Hanoi. The objectives of the workshop were to present on-going work results about this topic, concerning in particular the functioning and variability of water and associated matter fluxes over two main rivers systems (Red River and Mekong) and in the Vietnam coastal marine regions, and to discuss future work and collaboration. The meeting gathered ~50 participants from French, Vietnamese and US institutions.
